Liquides Imaginaires was born in 2012 when designer Philippe Di Méo and distributor David Frossard joined forces to return perfume to its sacred dimension. The brand, conceived during an art installation at Paris Design Week, draws inspiration from ancient Egyptian rituals where incense was used to communicate with the gods. Each fragrance functions as a liquid talisman, a sensory journey organized into thematic trilogies created by noses at Givaudan, Flair and Fleur. The bottle, with its stopper shaped like an ancient amphora, holds the perfume like a mysterious manuscript: each one is a chapter of a story yet to be discovered.
Sancti: the house's first creation, a pillar of purification in the Eaux Delà Trilogy. A contemporary incense, luminous and fresh: bergamot, grapefruit and cypress burst like a ray of light, giving way to an aromatic heart of lavender, rosemary and cardamom. The base of incense, myrrh, cedar and benzoin evokes the mineral quality of holy water. Spiritual without being gloomy, sacred yet vibrant.
Fortis: the dark counterpart to Sancti in the same trilogy, embodying protective strength. Saffron, cumin, oud and cypriol open with hypnotic intensity. A heart of guaiac wood, cedar, amyris and vetiver builds a cathedral of smoky woods, while the base of amber, patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla wraps around like black ink. Fragrance as invisible armor.
Desert Suave: the third chapter of the Eaux Imaginaires Trilogy, an edible mirage in the middle of the desert. Indian cardamom, mandarin and clove open with spicy warmth; the heart reveals orange blossom, rose and date, like a tray of fruit in an oasis, and the base of labdanum, toasted sesame and Atlas cedar leaves a golden, soft and enveloping trail. Nominated for the FiFi Award 2019.
Fleur de Sable: the queen of the dunes, from the Eaux de l'Est Trilogy. A spicy rose born from the desert wind: bergamot and pink pepper open with mineral freshness, the heart of rosehip and paprika brings a character that is both spicy and silky, and the base of black pepper, myrrh, iris and ambroxan gives it resinous depth. Delicate, sandy and enigmatic.
Blanche Bête: the house's most iconic fragrance, from the Eaux de Peau Trilogy. Inspired by the unicorn, a white, pure and imaginary beast, it opens with a enveloping milky accord of milk, ambrette and Mystikal. The heart of tuberose, jasmine, incense and Mahonial unfolds white flowers with mystical depth. The base of vanilla, cacao, tonka bean and musk closes with addictive creaminess. A floral gourmand unlike anything else.
