Alessandro Gualtieri created Orto Parisi as his personal laboratory. Megamare is his vision of the sea: not touristy, not summery. Dark aquatic, salty, almost primal. Notes of seaweed, ambroxan, and musk that smell of depth, not freshness. One of the most talked-about niche fragrances of recent years for its brutal projection and longevity.
Bois Impérial · Essential Parfums:
Essential Parfums was born with a clear premise: to democratize niche perfumery without giving up the signature of the world’s best perfumers. Bois Impérial is signed by Quentin Bisch and is one of the most successful woody scents in modern niche perfumery. Sophisticated, contemporary, and long-lasting.
Cuirs · Carner Barcelona:
Carner brings the family legacy of leather goods into perfume. Cuirs, “leathers” in Catalan, is its tribute to the workshops where the smell of freshly tanned leather, pipe smoke, and wood blended in the air. Sonia Constant built a spicy, dark fragrance: saffron, oud, labdanum, and a leather accord that is direct but never harsh. Barcelona niche with a Mediterranean soul.
Fougère Royale · Houbigant Paris:
In 1882, Paul Parquet created for Houbigant the fragrance that invented the fougère family, the most popular in men’s perfumery, and it was the first time in history that a synthetic isolate was used in perfumery: coumarin. The current version, reworked by Rodrigo Flores-Roux, respects the original DNA: lavender, bergamot, oakmoss, and coumarin, with a floral-spicy heart of geranium, rose, and carnation. A classic that never ages.
Malfa Walls · Obvious Parfums:
Obvious is a French maison committed to auteur perfumery and sustainability: recycled glass bottles, cork caps, and recycled paper boxes. Malfa Walls belongs to its High Standards collection and is signed by Julien Rasquinet, the perfumer behind Tabac Rose and Ambre Safrano by BDK Parfums. Inspired by the village of Malfa on the island of Salina, it opens with Sicilian citrus and cassis, evolves toward incense and sage, and closes with dry leather, oud, and cade. Dark, Mediterranean, and unusually distinctive.
