Imagine a transistor radio carved in sandalwood that emits ragas under the heat of Bandra. The hot copper softens the wood, releasing emanations of musk, cream, peach, ambrette, coconut, and cedar distillates. That is Radio Bombay.
Radio Bombay is a Perfume that explores hypothetical fragrances, the aromas suggested by objects, beyond the obvious. Like the soft Perfume emitted by an old sandalwood and copper radio when it heats up, or the scent of hot dust and greasy metal that comes off a '69 Fender Deluxe valve amplifier after a concert.
The Perfume is built around the essence of Mysore sandalwood, an aroma of perfection, purity, and concentration that evokes India. Since this wood has been overexploited, its essence has been recreated from the described aromas: musky cedar, peach, coconut, lactones, milk. The result is a Perfume that transports you to a small hot shop in Bandra, the "Brooklyn" of Bombay, where the aromas break down under the heat and the melodies of Geeta Dutt resonate from the radio.
