Discover the essence of Japan's sacred forests with the Perfume Amber Kiso by DS&Durga. Originating from the serene Kiso, this fragrance embodies an ancient tradition, with rare woods and temple essences that will transport your senses to a sacred place.
Japanese forests contain numerous trees whose wood is sacred in traditional religious ceremonies. The connection with the forest materializes in ritual offerings that include Incense made from these uncommon woods.
The resilient hinoki wood has been used in temples, Noh theaters, baths, and masu. The hinoki from the Kiso forest was used in the Ise Shrine in Mie Prefecture. The Sawara cypress is a robust "false" cypress with a lemon scent and fibrous red bark. The wood is also used for temples and shrines. It grows wild on the islands of Kyushu and Honshu.
The Asahi zuru maple is an ancient variety of maple native to Japan with beautifully ornamented pink, white, and green leaves. Its name means "swan at dawn".
